COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The Prosper Engineering Team prides themselves in giving back to the community. Students use their engineering knowledge and experiences to benefit others. Here are some of those projects.

  • Hosted Fight Like a Girl and Texas Talon Throwdown Off-Season Event
FRC Teams 5411, 9105 and LadyTalons hosted Prosper’s first-ever 2-day off-season event with 15 teams from across Texas and Oklahoma showcasing Coopertition and Gracious Professionalism to our community. The event sponsored the team’s LEGO for Foster Kids Drive and was also a STEM and FIRST Expo, introducing spectators to the Solar Car Challenge and other FIRST Programs. Thanks to FRC Team 6369 Mercenary Robotics for showcasing their FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Lego League programs, helping the community to see our Prosper FIRST Vision.

  • FIRST Robotics Expo
Teams 5411 and 9105 showcased robots to 240 Prosper ISD students. Students saw the robots in action, interacted with them and was able to get up close to see how they work. The excitement was through the roof.

  • Talon Tutorials
To help new members starting out in the FRC world, teams 5411 and 9105 collaborated to create a library of how-to-videos as part of their efforts to help other teams as well as create a training structure for new team members. Talon Tutorials was created to facilitate this objective and is incorporated into a self-paced Skills Ladder Training Program that allow students to review lessons and test their gained knowledge.

  • CAMP INVENTION
Camp Invention is a STEM Summer Camp Program for Grades K-6 that turns curious kids into innovative thinkers. Every year, team members mentor young students throughout the summer sessions inspiring over 500 young students and over 1000 volunteer hours.
